A brand new network aimed at empowering women across the game is launching this International Women’s Day, as the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation introduces the Derbyshire Women in Cricket Network.

The new initiative has been created to support and develop female volunteers across the recreational game, helping women gain the confidence, skills and opportunities to step into leadership roles within their clubs, teams and the wider cricket community.

Women already play a vital role in cricket across Derbyshire – and this network aims to build on this by creating a supportive space where women can connect, learn and grow together.

Lauren Tuffrey, Women’s & Girls Development Officer said:
"We’re incredibly excited to launch the Derbyshire Women in Cricket Network and create a space where women across the game can feel supported, connected and empowered. Women already play such an important role in cricket across the county, and this network is about building on that by providing opportunities to develop confidence, leadership skills and new connections.

We hope the network will have a lasting impact by helping more women feel confident to step into leadership roles within their clubs and communities, ultimately strengthening women’s cricket across Derbyshire."

To ensure the network reflects the needs of those involved in the game, the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation will gather insight and feedback from women to shape future opportunities and support.

How to Join the Network
