The Young Cricket Collective had a fantastic 2026, bringing together 93 young people and giving them the confidence, skills and opportunities to get more involved in cricket.
Every participant said their coaching confidence had improved, while 94% felt more confident in umpiring and scoring. What’s even more encouraging is seeing that confidence turn into action, with participants encouraged to get involved at their local clubs. 10 young people also volunteered on DCF Women & Girls programmes over the summer.
It’s a brilliant reflection of the enthusiasm and potential of young people across Derbyshire, and the role the Young Cricket Collective is playing in inspiring the next generation to get involved. Courses for 2027 are currently being planned. Keep an eye out for the Young Cricket Collective’s return in 2027!
