Why did you become a Trustee?
Having played in the Derbyshire leagues for the past 20 years, I have seen first-hand the positive impact cricket can have - bringing people together, strengthening communities and helping individuals develop life skills that extend far beyond the boundary rope. Cricket provides a sense of purpose to those who engage with the sport and I want to help inspire and empower more people to participate - I believe cricket should be truly for everyone.
I am motivated to give something back to the game that has given me so much and to help ensure that cricket in Derbyshire remains accessible and inclusive for everyone, regardless of background, age, or ability. Supporting this mission through the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation and helping to guide its strategic direction as a Trustee is highly appealing to me.
How do you believe you can support the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation to achieve its aims and objectives?
I am keen to apply my governance experience, leadership background and professional network to support the Foundation's strategic direction and help grow its impact, using cricket as a powerful vehicle for social good and positive change across Derbyshire.
Alongside this, I sit on the General Committee of the club I play for the club I play for, which gives me valuable insight into the challenges facing the recreational game locally. I bring passion, commitment and a collaborative approach to the Board, supporting the Foundation in delivering its ambitions and helping make cricket a game for everyone in Derbyshire.
