Lauren Tuffrey

Women's & Girls' Development Officer

My Job Role:

Alongside Emma Thatcher, my role is to lead the growth and delivery of inclusive cricket programmes across Derbyshire, supporting clubs, schools, and communities to increase and sustain the participation of women and girls in the recreational game. My focus is on the women's participation and coaching programmes, club support, girls' league offers, and providing support to the East Midlands Women's Cricket League.

Why I wanted to work at Derbyshire Cricket Foundation?

I have always loved cricket and the community that the sport has given me. When the opportunity to work for the DCF came along, I jumped at it and couldn't wait to help with some time in the office and out coaching in schools. I've really enjoyed my role as Marketing and Media Officer over the past couple of years, but I am really excited about the opportunity to have a focus on the Women's and Girls' game now going forward.

How do you think you can help the DCF to achieve its aims and objectives?

I am really passionate about providing opportunities and playing a part in the continues growth of the Women's and Girls' game across Derbyshire. The numbers speak for themselves with over 60 clubs now having a Women's team and over 40 clubs having a Girls' team. As someone who has grown up playing cricket, I feel I can provide insights through my own experience and conversations with the cricket network.
