Representatives from the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation (DCF) attended the Derbyshire Over 60s Annual Presentation Evening on Friday 16th October at Kedleston Park Golf Club, celebrating the achievements and contributions of those involved in senior cricket across the county.

DCF representatives Tom Coxhead and Lauren Butler joined players, volunteers and guests for an evening recognising the dedication and commitment of those who continue to enjoy and contribute to cricket later in life.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of commemorative caps to players who had represented Derbyshire Over 60s on more than 50 occasions, recognising their longstanding commitment to the county. Guests were also treated to a speech from former Derbyshire County Cricket Club player and President, Alan ‘Bud’ Hill. A familiar and respected figure in Derbyshire cricket.

Special recognition was given to Richard and Annette Owen for their outstanding contribution to senior cricket in Derbyshire over many years. Their dedication and hard work have played an important role in supporting and developing opportunities for players to continue participating in the game.

The evening also provided an opportunity for the Foundation to strengthen its relationship with Derbyshire Seniors Cricket and explore how both organisations can work more closely together in the future.

DCF is keen to support the continued development of senior cricket across the county, raising awareness of the opportunities available and celebrating the positive impact that cricket can have on physical health, mental wellbeing and social connections later in life.

We are looking forward to working alongside the Derbyshire Seniors committee to enhance the profile of senior cricket, recognise the contributions of its players and volunteers, and support the growth and long-term sustainability of the game for senior age groups.

The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation would like to thank the Derbyshire Over 60s committee for their invitation and congratulate all those recognised during the evening.
